If you have kids of your own, or if you have them around your place a lot, you know that “children” and “organization” aren’t always matching words. But there’s a lot you can do about it. For once, you can try turning every room in your house into a kids-friendly space where they can play and where they can easily put away their toys, art supplies and crafts when they’re done.
With these few tips, we hope to help you find the perfect balance between child-friendly and well-arranged. Ask your kids to help you with these projects – they’re going to enjoy it a lot.
– Kids just LOVE to draw. And you can easily incorporate this hobby to you decór by painting a chalkboard on a corridor or bedroom wall.
– Find a nice place for their art supplies. Teach the kids to keep it clean and organized.
– When it comes to living room furniture, 3 things are essential: prefer a durable, dark and easy-to-clean material.
– Shades are so much better than curtains if you have kids (or pets). They are harder to reach and easier to clean.
– Higher shelves is the golden rule here. If there’s something fragile or that you don’t want your kids playing with, put a shelf where only you can reach.
– Make your kids feel welcomed in every room. Have lots of storage boxes around and teach them to keep their toys organized.
– Put rugs in the kids play areas. They love to pretend they’re pathways, or lakes, or any other thing they can imagine. You can use old rugs, that way you won’t have to buy new ones or worry to much about stains, for that matter.
– Put 2 or 3 pieces of string on the wall to display your kids’ artworks. You can do that in their bed walls, kitchen or corridors.
– Use cofee tables as a table for kids. They look very nice and some of them have drawers where they can put some of their toys.
– If you have a spare bathroom, consider decorating it for your kids. Reachable towels, a stepstool next to the sink, and lots of images and colors will turn it into a kids-friendly space.
